Is Therapy Right For Me?
-
Therapy is a place to explore your thoughts, feelings, and worries without shame or judgment. The decision to seek out mental health services is a personal choice made by many teens and adults. Sometimes individuals may choose to work on long-standing mental health struggles (e.g., depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, etc). Other times, individuals seek out therapeutic support as a way to develop or strengthen strategies for personal growth which are often linked to times of transitions (e.g., dissolution of a relationship, loss, launching into adulthood, diagnosis of a chronic illness, etc). Therapy is right for anyone who has a desire to learn more about themselves and make positive changes in their overall wellness, relationships, or daily life management.
Individuals may also choose to seek medication management as part of their mental health treatment to address symptoms that may not fully respond to therapy alone. Medications can help alleviate symptoms of mental health conditions, provide stabilization, and enhance the effectiveness of therapy, leading to improved overall well-being and quality of life.
Mental health is not a “one-size-fits-all”. Our approach to individual and relational approach is deeply rooted in modern philosophy and evidence-based practices.
