A Space to Learn, Connect, and Thrive
Let's Face It: Moving Through Anxious Fears Together
NOW ACCEPTING REQUESTS
Group Overview
Anxiety, OCD, and sticky, ruminative thoughts can make the world feel smaller — often leaving children and adolescents feeling isolated or struggling to use therapeutic skills on their own.
Let’s Face It: Moving Through Anxious Fears Together is a 6-week therapeutic group designed to help participants break out of that bubble and strengthen their ability to apply skills independently — so they can live more freely and confidently.
Core Themes We’ll Cover
Each week, participants will explore key areas of growth, including:
Understanding anxiety, OCD, and sticky thought loops
Learning to step back from mental traps
Practicing exposure and values-based action
Strengthening present-moment awareness
Building inner confidence and psychological flexibility
Sessions are creative, hands-on, and movement-friendly. When therapeutically appropriate, activities may take place within the surrounding community (walking distance from MMC’s group room). Group participation provides an empowering environment where building skills alongside peers increases motivation, connection, and confidence.
This therapeutic group is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and self-compassion practices — all adapted specifically for youth.
